Making Changes on a website such as the title, content, even the URl takes a little work, but can be done. The instructions to do each of these tasks would be lengthy for this post, some simple searches will help you find exactly what you have to do. Making these updates to a website are the best thing you can do for you site and the people you use your site.

The other alternative would save yourself time and frustration. Contact a person who knows their way around websites.  When you do have handy your login information. Depending on what needs to be done, I would ask for the hosting server’s login  information. If the website is built or you want to change it to a different one, I can tell you want platform it was built on, for example, this site is built with WordPress, other sites I worked on were built with Wix or Weebly. Then there are a few that are built with HTM/CSS.

Websites built on a platform have logins as well. I would need that information as well. From there, just about anything can be changed. The bigger concern is to let Google know it was done.  That is where the Google Search Console comes in. You are able to submit your sitemap, have Google fetch the site and identify any broken links, or other errors the bots found.

Changing your URL(web address) of your website requires login to where you purchased the URL, and the past URL. If you do not have the original URL then you should consider duplicating the site, with some changes, and use it. Let the domain go on the original. If you have access to the domain registrar, then you can have the old URL point to the new one. Confused, you are not alone, best bet if you wish to do it yourself, contact the place you purchased the web address and ask their support team to help you out.  If you still are not satisfied, call me and I’ll walk you through it.

If you are just tired of your website and want to make a lot of changes consider having the core of it created and get some instruction to continue working it and updating it yourself. This way you save from the cost of huge new site, and take control of your site. When I work with my clients, I try to do some Skyping so I can watch them make the updates and changes, and guide them as needed. I also send them playbooks, instructions to do tasks they would be most likely to do.
